Vietnam, 1960s. In the picturesque village of Do Do, country lad Ngan falls deeply for Ha Lan, a girl with mesmerising blue eyes. Life takes a turn when Ha Lan moves to the bustling city of Hue, where she is enchanted by a wealthy city boy and becomes pregnant. Yet despite of this, Ngan’s love for her never wavers, and he even takes care of her daughter in their home village in subsequent years. Dreamy Eyes is a tale of unrequited love, enduring hope, as well as an ode to the beautiful countryside of Vietnam.

Victor Vũ is a Vietnamese-American director, screenwriter, and film producer, known for films like Dreamy Eyes (Mắt Biếc), The Immortal (Người Bất Tử), Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass (Tôi Thấy Hoa Vàng Trên Cỏ Xanh), Scandal, Vengeful Heart (Quả Tim Máu), Battle of the Brides (Cô Dâu Đại Chiến) and Blood Letter (Thiên Mệnh Anh Hùng). He has contributed many valuable works to the development of Vietnamese cinema and is a pioneer in exploring bold themes and genres. He is considered one of the leading filmmakers in Vietnam today.
